Wow what a fantastic weekend and great addition to HopeTown’s increasing list of eclectic events! Some of Nashville’s greatest musical talent came to entertain us this past weekend. Even though the weather was awful they kept our spirits high. I’m exhausted but it was worth every minute.

SeaSpray kicked off the festival with a Mix & Mingle Thursday evening. It was an easy breezy evening with the artists getting up one at a time singing solo, feeding us an amuse-bouche to tantalize our taste buds for what was to come.

Friday Abaco Inn lured us into a Ho Down with vintage southern posters and a country buffet. Country-fried steak, fried green tomatoes and fried okra were just a few of the southern specialties to delight the palate. If that didn’t do it then the music which was being carried along by the wind would. The artists warmed us up with their tunes on that chilly evening including the now notorious Hope Town song!

Saturday night Firefly took us to the crescendo! In an intimate and buzzy setting we ate amazing food and listened to more soul moving lyrics, some new and some old. Mark Bryan took us back to the 90’s singing one of the songs he wrote for Darius Rucker a.k.a Hootie and the Blowfish.  They encouraged the audience to clap, dance, and sing along. If that didn’t keep you warm then Firefly’s new Moonshine would!

Book your rooms soon because the date has already been set for February 20th, 2014 for the 2nd Annual Songwriters Festival. I can safely say that this event will continue to gain popularity and notoriety! The website is to get more information.

Thank you to all of the artists and venues for an amazing weekend!
