It takes a village to build a village

On December 21st, 22nd and 23rd the Hope Town Association, under the creative direction of Monica Cook, designed and built the most spectacular Hope Town Christmas Village to celebrate the holidays and raise money for Hope Town Community Center. Taylor Park on Elbow Cay was transformed from a tropical paradise into a winter wonderland. Visitors, second homeowners and locals all gathered to witness the spectacle that was the Christmas village. There were children ice skating, people caroling and even Santa stopped by during the 3 day winter extravaganza. The Christmas market was stocked with all kinds of homemade baked goods, candles and ornaments that local artisans and purveyors donated to sell in the market. The Firefly Sunset Resort, Hope Town Harbor Lodge, Sea Spray Resort and Marina and the Sugar Shack all offered an excellent assortment of delicious foods and beverages to help spread the holiday cheer. It was truly a sight to behold, and a magical event that will hopefully be back in Hope Town for years to come. People from all over had volunteered, donated and celebrated in this wonderful village. What a magical event to be a part of!
